Landscape Design and build:
The quiet beauty of a well-planned and laid out garden can be an oasis in troubled times. A place to relax, think, breathe and seek inspiration. I formed Chaucer Landscape Management in 2014 to share my passion for garden design with my clients, honed over many years' study and a lifetime’s practice.
Vita Sackville-West
" The most noteworthy thing about gardeners is that they are always optimistic, always enterprising, and never satisfied. They always look forward to doing something better than they have ever done before"
Design Services
Your garden design starts with you.
I'll meet with you to understand what you want from your garden, and offer ideas about how the design elements could achieve your objectives.
Then I'll survey the site, taking detailed measurements including levels, and establishing the factors which influence plant choice such as site aspect, drainage and soils analysis.
Your site survey will then be drawn up on AutoCAD, providing a true-to-scale basis for the eventual design layout.
A design 'Mood Board' is then produced, showing you elements of the garden I'll incorporate in the design.
Based on your feedback to the Mood Board, I'll draw up your detailed design, including plant lists and costings.
If you decide to go ahead, the ground preparation can either be done by you, your contractor, or I'll handle this for you.
Then comes the fun bit, the final layout and planting which will either be supervised or undertaken by me.
Surveying
It's vital to understand how the levels of your plot influence the design, or inform the ground preparation. I use professional surveying equipment to ensure we get the details right. The levels analysis is carried out as part of your site survey.
